#WeRideTogether is more than an organization – it is a movement. It is a culture. It’s a community of athletes, coaches, parents, sporting staff, and fans who make strides together to create positive changes in the world of sports.
Since its origin, #WeRideTogether has been all about the mission of extending awareness, education, and resources for sexual abuse prevention and support for survivors.
Grown out of necessity and in response to her daughter’s experience of misconduct and abuse in equestrian sport, Founder, Carrie Kehring, rallied a team to embark on creating change efficiently and effectively. This meant storytelling, engaging people on social media, and most importantly supporting others within athletic spaces. This leadership, vision, and core sentiment continuously inform our values and daily work in inclusively lifting one another up and inspiring transformation in sporting cultures and environments.
Thus the hashtag in #WeRideTogether’s name is not just a symbol, but a call to action. It's a movement akin to #MeToo, advocating for a culture shift in all sports at every level. This shift is about unity and coming together for the safety of all athletes, and the protection of our sports. It is about creating healthy sports and making a real, tangible, sustainable difference.
#WeRideTogether invites everyone to join this communal mission and spark change in their sporting environments.
As an example of unity and how we all have a role to play in creating and maintaining safe, healthy athletic environments, we are proud to showcase the remarkable 2024 Olympians of Canada’s Equestrian team who shared what healthy sport means to them.
We would love for you to reach out to us on social media or at info@weridetogether.today and tell us what healthy sport means to you!
